Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, the Golden Land, is one of Southeast Asia's largest and most diverse countries. It is home of the Bagan, an ancient city which is the cradle of Burmese civilization. It stretches from the virgin islands of the Andaman Sea in the south, right up to the Eastern Himalayan mountain range. It remains to be one of the most mysterious and undiscovered destinations in the world with overflowing beauty and charm to offer to travelers. It also boasts a colorful history from the pre-migration period to the colonial era and up to the military junta. The country is now an emerging tourist destination that is starting to fascinate visitors with its culture, geography, religion, and history.
